Course Overview

This popular course combines the fundamentals of drawing and painting with an emphasis on creating original artworks from real life subjects. Enjoy taking chances and moving out of your comfort zone as you gain confidence in your art practice! Maryanne Wick sets group exercises designed to develop and improve your technical, observation and problem-solving skills. You’ll use drawing tools such as graphite pencils and charcoals, and choose between oil or acrylic paints, to learn solid painting techniques. Demonstrations, daily discussions about Australian and international artists and detailed feedback about your work is provided as you progress throughout the week - all in a supportive and friendly studio environment.

The course is suitable for real beginners as well as those with some experience up to intermediate levels.

*Short courses are open to students of ages 16 years and over.

*Drawing and painting short courses may be held in upstairs studios. If access to stairs is not suitable, please contact NAS Short Courses Administration at short.courses@nas.edu.au
