Course Overview

Curious about what drawing can be? Learn and explore new and experimental ways of approaching drawing through a range of materials, techniques, and ideas, including drawing with light, building drawing machines, drawing with the environment, embodied processes of drawing, wearable drawing garments and more! Learn how to push the boundaries of what drawing is and discover exciting methods and approaches to mark-making.

Lecturer Profile

Liss Finney, is an Australian artist and educator living and working on Gadigal Land, Sydney, NSW. Her practice spans painting, installation, and sculpture. Liss holds a BFA (Painting) and an MFA (Sculpture) from the National Art School and has a background in Scientific Illustration, holding a Bachelor Degree with Distinction in Natural History Illustration from the University of Newcastle. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently undertaking a residency in Singapore at LaSalle College of the Arts. She was awarded the Clitheroe Masters Scholarship (2023) and has previously been an award winner in the Brenda Clouten Travelling Scholarship, Lake Prize, Hawkesbury Art Prize, and a finalist in the Newcastle Club Art Prize, National Emerging Art Prize, Gosford and Blake Prizes.
