Course Overview

Join us at NAS this Summer to explore the world of large-scale drawing. Over three days, you will create your own individual compositions and contribute to a wall drawing inspired by the world around you. You will work with a variety of drawing materials including charcoal, graphite, ink and more.

Lecturer Profile

Luke Thurgate is an artist and educator that currently lives and works on Gadigal Land (Sydney). He teaches in the BFA program at the National Art School where he is a Master of Fine Art alumni in drawing. Luke has previously worked in public programming and education roles at Adelaide Central School of Art, Art Gallery of South Australia, and Newcastle Art Gallery. Luke has had numerous solo and group exhibitions and has recently been a finalist in theJacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award, the Dobell Drawing Prize and the Tom Bass Prize for Figurative Sculpture. Luke is represented in NSW by .M Contemporary.
